Southern Grit Endurance Challenge — Pacer Policy & Registration Rules
1. Who May Use a Pacer
Pacers are allowed only in the following events:

24-Hour: pacers allowed after 12 hours

12-Hour: pacers allowed after 6 hours
-
6-Hour: pacers allowed after 3 hours
-
3-Hour: no pacers allowed
2. Pacer Purpose
Pacers are intended to provide:

Motivation
-
Course navigation assistance
-
Safety support
Pacers are not intended to provide a competitive advantage.
3. Pacer Rules
Pacers may:
-
Run or walk with their runner (must answer who their runner is during the registration process)

Offer verbal encouragement and navigation help
-
Alert race staff to safety or medical concerns
Pacers may NOT:
-
Carry food, hydration, or gear for the runner
-
Push, pull, or physically assist the runner
-
Pace more than one runner at a time
-
Block or interfere with other runners
-
Receive awards or official recognition
-
Leave the course except at designated access points
4. Pacer Limits

Only one pacer at a time per runner
-
Runners may use multiple pacers, but not simultaneously
5. Pacer Identification
All pacers must:

Register as a pacer (online)
-
Sign the pacer waiver
-
Receive and wear pacer identification (bib or wristband) at all times
Unregistered pacers will be removed from the course.
6. Eligibility Requirements
Pacers must:

Be at least 18 years old
-
Be physically capable of the section they are pacing
-
Carry a headlamp if pacing between dusk and dawn
-
Carry a phone or emergency contact method
